In the meantime, I’ll make due with helping to reveal the book’s cover. I can’t wait until I get the chance to read it. It sounds like a great read–one that would be perfect for some time spent curled up on the couch with a blanket on a cool day. One Summer with Autumn, by Julie Reece, is one such book. However, he is defeated and driven out by the Herons. In the second book Zavac attacks the town of Limmat and kills many of the inhabitants there with his band of pirates. He then learned about Andomal from the skipper whom he captured (and then killed). Zavac is responsible for sinking some Skandian trading ships, Spraydancer, Golden Sun, and Rainbow, and murdering the sailors on board. Zavac built an evil reputation for himself along the coast of the River Dan, though he occasionally took Raven into the Constant Sea along the Sonderlandic coast, and was a regular visitor of both Bayrath and the pirate haven of Raguza, though he was disliked by Korpaljo Mihaly for his slippery way of cheating fellow pirates. At an unspecified point in time, Zavac, who originated from Magyara (a country infamous for its corsair history) took control of a black ship named Raven and crewed it with many of his countrymen. It will make you cry, it will make you laugh and it will arouse you. Tim fell madly in love with John and his super long eyelashes, and they built a life together despite all the disapproval they faced from their families and society. From the beginning, you already expect them to meet difficulties, especially since this was the mid-seventies and they were both going to an all boys Catholic school. Timothy Conigrave wrote this tale of his love for John Caleo that lasted longer than a lot of relationships these days. I had a feeling it was going to be the same thing when I finished this book. I rarely read non-fiction books because if something bad happens, I know it happened in real life, and it sits with me for days like a tumour. The raw honesty of Timothy Conigrave’s book Holding the Man made me weep when I finished reading it. |
